Purpose

The Osprey Nozzle Purge Collector (NPC) captures fiber and fine particulate from the nozzle fan purge air of an Osprey Drum Filter system. By serving as the final dust collection point, the NPC eliminates the need to recirculate the cyclone exhaust to the drum filter inlet, helping to extend drum filter media and passive filter life while allowing clean filtered air to be returned to the facility or exhausted outside.

Application

The NPC is ideal for personal hygienic care and fibrous material applications where filter purge material is best not to be recirculated through the Osprey Drum Filter. Multiple sizes are available based on airflow and material characteristics with discharge options including collection drums, bulk bags, and briquetters.

Operation

Air from the Drum Filter nozzle fan enters the NPC, where reduced air velocity allows heavier fiber and particulate to fall into the hopper. Fine particles are captured by high-efficiency cartridge filters, which are periodically cleaned with compressed-air pulses. Clean air passes through the filters and is returned to the facility or exhausted outside. Collected material is discharged through a rotary airlock to the selected collection system.
