Operation
SAP is metered into the production process by a multi-slot vibratory tray. The flow rate of the SAP is constantly adjusted by a microprocessor controller, which continuously monitors the drop in SAP weight as it exits the hopper above the feed tray. Periodically the hopper is automatically refilled with SAP conveyed from a bulk bag by a screw conveyor or vacuum loader. During this brief period the feeder switches from loss-in-weight metering to volumetric dosing until the hopper is re-filled and stabilized.
